Lasagna with caciotta cheese, tomato and basil

A twist on the traditional lasagna, with a milder flavor thanks to the caciotta cheese.

Ingredients
for 4 people
- 12 lasagna sheets
- 200 g of fresh cow’s caciotta cheese
- 400 g of tomato puree
- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of sugar (for the tomato)
- Fresh basil to taste.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
Preparation
1.
Cook lasagna sheets in salted water and drain.

In a skillet, sauté chopped garlic and onion with oil, then add tomato puree. Cook for 15 minutes and season with salt and pepper.

Combine sugar to balance the acidity of the tomato.

In an oven dish, alternate layers of lasagna, tomato sauce, thinly sliced caciotta cheese and fresh basil.

Complete the last layer with tomato sauce and some finely shaved caciotta cheese.

Bake at 180°C for 25-30 minutes, until the surface is golden brown.
7.
Serve hot!
