A terriory to savor

The hills of Reggio Emilia and the neighboring province of Parma are lands known worldwide for their rich agricultural and food traditions.

Fattoria Rossi is the ideal starting point for exploring the area’s historical and natural treasures. Among the main attractions is the Castle of Bianello, part of the Matildic Castles, a place of great charm that offers breathtaking views of the hills of Reggio Emilia and tells the story of Matilda of Canossa, a key figure of the Italian Middle Ages. Not far away, the Castle of Canossa is worth a visit: situated on an imposing rock, it is famous for the meeting betweenEmperor Henry IV and Pope Gregory VII during the investiture struggle.

For nature lovers, a hike to the Pietra di Bismantova is a must. This unique-looking rock massif, mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy, dominates the landscape with its sheer walls and is ideal for climbing or scenic walks. The nearby Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park offers other opportunities for immersion in nature, including mountain trails and ancient villages.

The cities of Reggio Emilia and Parma, a short distance away, enrich the experience with their cultural and gastronomic heritage. Reggio Emilia, with its historic center full of squares and theaters, is the birthplace of the Italian Tricolor, while Parma is famous for its Duomo, Baptistery, and world-famous gastronomic products.
